At some point crawling north up through Maine, AT&T permanently ceases to exist. I’ve had no data and little power for some time. The last couple places I visited ran off generators and propane deep in the Maine 100 Mile Wilderness. They don’t spare much power out here.
My favorite place in Maine was Whitehouse Landing, they saved me. It’s a hunting lodge that picked me up in a boat on a lake in the middle of nowhere.
At one point I was literally foraging lions maine mushrooms and freshwater muscles to eat after being sick in the 100 mile wilderness for days, laid up in my tent, worried about my food supply. But that story will come in order.
Anyhow, I made it through Maine and all its wild ass glory and I can’t wait to share it, but first I have to return where I left off in the adventure. Up next is the White Mountains and perhaps my most rewarding and visually stunning days in the Presidential Range.
